I'd agree with Tony about some of the installers as I had a similar problem
(stayed home all day for the guy to turn up then found a "you weren't home
when we called" note in the letterbox). 20 minutes on hold and a massive
rant and shuffle through three departments got me another appointment two
days later. The new installer was very efficient and helpful and made up
for the d*ckhead they sent round the first time. Interestingly Telstra
claimed they weren't responsible for the ability of the installers as it
was all subcontracted out. My response was that as Telstra was the prime
contractor they most certainly did have a responsibility as any failure at
the installation level would *always* be perceived as a Telstra problem.
They still didn't get it though.
I noticed the outages last month as well, all within a few days of each
other. I think Tony's call shook them up though because by the time I rang
there was a "we are experiencing problems" message on the customer
helpline.
I struggle to get above 1Gb per month... how sad is that!
