That's not quite true - the only 'official' drivers for the hardware MPEG
decoder are closed-source and unreliable at best (has this situation
changed recently?). If you've got them working well, then that's good, but
there are plenty of people who haven't.

If you're not playing DVDs with it, then it probably doesn't matter, but
it's important to note that these platforms do have linux problems, even
though they are (falsely) advertised as 100% linux compatible.
