Hi LUGgers

The Wellington Perl Mongers group will be meeting in a couple
of weeks. Hopefully, if people are interested, it will be the
start of regular meetings.

At our first meeting, we'll be running a session introducing
Perl to newbies. No prior programming experience is necessary.
If you want to bring along your laptop then we'll help you get
Perl installed or configured if you haven't got it already.
There's no charge and no formal membership structure so just
turn up (details below).

If you're already a competent Perl programmer then please come
along too. You may be able to lend a hand with helping the
newbies and we'll have a discussion to see what people would
like to do about future meetings and see what we can tee up.

Details are:

  6:00pm Monday 13 September 2004
  Level 2, Eagle Technology House
  150-154 Willis Street
  Wellington

The observant among you will notice that this is the same night
as the WellyLUG meeting. The especially observant ones will
also have noticed that it's in the same building too. Catalyst
IT are providing the venue. At least for this meeting, I thought
it might be a good idea to do it the same night so that the Linux
geeks have something to do before their meeting starts and the
Perl nerds have somewhere to go after their meeting finishes.
We can discuss whether this is a good or bad plan for future
meetings.

The Wellington Perl Mongers web site is here:

  http://wellington.pm.org/

You'll find instructions there on subscribing to the mailing list.
It's very low traffic.

If you have friends or workmates who you think might be interested
in Perl then please forward this message to them.

Regards
Grant McLean
Wellington Perl Mongers Coordinator
