Hi

would you mind elaborating a little.

Are you suggesting that the direct output of rsync (is that stdout?) is
displayed on the browser window?

I need to capture the rsync output to a log file so it can be emailed at the
end of the backup.

can I capture the output to a file as well as display it?

There's a far easier method. Most browsers will display-as-you-load, so if
you're just outputting text, simply set unbuffered output in your language
of choice, and lines will be displayed in the browser as you print them in
your code..
