If it's MacOS X, it will be able to read a standard iso9660 filesystem 
without a problem -I've burnt lots of discs on my linux machine using 
cdrecord and never had a problem reading them with my iBook.

MacOS 9 or earlier might be a different kettle of fish - especially with 
regard to MS Joliet extensions etc.

That page has an extension for older macs to enable some of these features.

Both OS X and OS9 can read HFS volumes, but this method will render the 
disc unusable on a PC unless you burn dual is09660/HFS sessions.

If its saying stuff about 'cannot access file' it sounds like the CD 
mounts ok but there is simply no player associated with the mpegs.

Maybe tell your user to open the quicktime player and then use the 
file->Open dialog instead of double-clicking on the file to see if that 
gives better results.
