I didn't know that, might give it a go.

I don't know about that, I've always found X11 to be far more
responsive than (tight)VNC, especially on slower machines.

Yep, me too, pity the only server implementation is kind of
expensive. Hopefully those rumours of a KDE effort to release a free
version come true.
