" 'burbs "  actually Cliff, which is a reasonably popular contraction of suburbs.
Quite why this is "cheeky", I am unsure, but I do accept that I can be cheeky at times.
But as for "sod", I am neither crusted with topsoil, nor have I EVER been a sailor ;)
