No matter how well set up the system is, it will still require regular
security updates.  Every now and again, whenever someone remembers, is
not enough.

And yes, I believe you can trust the Microsoft updates.  Regardless of
whether or not they are perfect, you are far far better off with them
than without them.

If it's a well setup linux server it should need little maintenance, and
the end user shouldn't even notice anyway.
