I should have noted this in my previous email, but if at all possible,
it's definately better to use a dedicated swap partition - It's quite a
bit faster as you don't have to worry about a filesystem overhead on top
of the swapping time.
If you absoultely have to have a swap file, try to put it on a fast,
non-journalled filesystem like ext2 if you have one available to keep
the overhead as low as possible.
