I don't know about iMovie equivalents for Linux, so I can't help you
there. But on a related note ...
I recently put together a static HTML+JPEG photo album which I burned
to a CD. Just out of curiousity, I put the CD into my DVD player - a
Warehouse $79 special. I was surprised to discover that it found all
the image files on the disk and was able to cycle through them in
order of filename (or randomly), with varying fade/wipe transition
effects. I know it can also play MP3 files but it probably wouldn't
play the music and loop through the photos at the same time.
So given that you could probably get 90% of what you're after by
simply dumping the JPEGs onto a CD, how much effort are you prepared
to expend for the remaining 10%?
Cheers
Grant
