still not much use - because it will then give ask if you wish to proceed 
Y/n .... you need to --auto flag to always answer yes..

urpmi.update -a
urpmi --auto-select --update --auto

you might want to add the --keep flag too, otherwise it may remove packages in 
order to upgrade others.

it all sounds a bit scrarey too me. Why are you using Mandrake as a server? 
what kind of server?? mandrake's strength is desktop, not the unattended 
server.
