I stopped looking at the posts after this one I'm replying too when I saw it
digerate into some distro war thing, blah blah.
Anyway..
I'm using OpenOffice on Debian sarge, version 1.1.1, or from 'apt-cache show
openoffice.org' "Version: 1.1.1-3" and I can't seem to reproduce your problem at
all.
I tried =SUM and =AVERAGE .

What does your 'apt-cache show openoffice.org' for the version?

| But if I used the M word, I would not be able to go
|
| apt-get install gnome
|
| and it go and download for me all the dependencies from teh Internet and
| install them automatically :)
|
| I would need to goto like rpmfind.net , and down load 50 packages only
| to find out that these 50 packages required a further 100 dependencies
| to run, and those packages require another 40 to start the application,
| which then requires about 10 before you can use any function within that
| application, and so forth and so forth :)
|
| but yes -- I get your point...
|
| I may go and get the testing version and see if that works better :)
