Hi there Glen,
If you're looking for an iptables based gateway/firewall that is a no brainer
to install and simple to use through it's web interface, perhaps try IPCop. I
have used this as my firewall for over a year now serving a small
neighbourhood WLAN. It works well on low spec'ed machines. Installation is
almost as easy as putting in a CD and rebooting. There is a good (quite busy)
support mailing list and the developers are actively developing the next
version. The present stable version is built on a RH base while the next,
currently beta testing, is based on LFS. The main downer is that there is
only small built-in support for internal modems. You'd likely have to build
the drivers yourself.
