My recommendation would be to install an imap server (I use uw-imapd,
but they're all pretty similar) and fetchmail.

Have fetchmail run as his user through cron every 5 minutes or whatever
and pull any new mail off your server.  By default, fetchmail will just
drop any mail it retrieves into his mail spool, where the imap server
can pull it from.

If you want to get classy, set up procmail as well to have it sort mail
into folders / delete junk / whatever else. :)

I've got a similar setup running at home to grab mail from my work
address.
