Hi Cameron,
Use 2.6 if it's not too much hassle, if only because it's easier to
turn on pre-emptivivity in the kernel, which is better for games and
the like. Make sure you have the module-init-tools package installed
first though.
The latest nvidia drivers have support for 2.6, and they work fine for
me.
