Can you just see the Samba server by name, but no shares are showing? The
last time I saw this problem was when the smb and nmb daemons weren't
running, IOW, samba wasn't started. Starting smb wasn't enabled by default
on my RH9 system. Just do the old "ps aux | grep smb" and "ps aux | grep
nmb" to check it out. You should see smbd and nmbd processes running.
(Hoping this isn't too obvious.)

I have found scp and pscp to be a bit tricky sometimes. I would first try
to ssh from Win to Linux, then try to copy files. I've always used putty,
never Winscp, but they're both supposed to do the same job equally well.
