Okay I've installed screen but haven't found a good howto yet. I also took
Carlos' advice and plugged a modem into the serial port. I could talk to it
fine so the port's okay. Under doze the switch came up as per the
instructions after one press of the enter key. Is there a special key
sequence to send a return from inside minicom?
Now I've locked /dev/ttyS0. Haha, I'm such a clutz.
