Until Sam's WLUG advertising list/facility becomes available, we couldn't know
of it under the current rule. This type of issue is one reason why a blanket
advertising ban is not my favourite course. However, the list service is
provided by Ewen, & it is his rule, so we respect it. Simple. (I do understand
Ewen's rationale, though, and why the rule is there. It's not all bad :-)
If you feel the restriction is not a good thing, then offer a service
comparable to the current one which permits advertising & we'll see if members
choose to move.
As far as identifying members, print out a msg to you from the list if you want
"proof". WLUG membership is simply by joining the list.

Different strokes. If it ever becomes of value to have a member registration
system, we will probably instigate one, but at present the informality is nice.
