[wellylug] scsi questions

so how do i change permissions?
chmod has no effect 

[root at gargi brenda]# ls -l /dev/sg0
lr-xr-xr-x  1 root root 36 Nov  1 10:33 /dev/sg0 -> 
scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/generic
[root at gargi brenda]# chmod a+w /dev/sg0
[root at gargi brenda]# ls -l /dev/sg0
lr-xr-xr-x  1 root root 36 Nov  1 10:33 /dev/sg0 -> 
scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/generic
[root at gargi brenda]# sg_scan
sg_scan: device /dev/sg0 failed on scsi ioctl, skip: Operation not permitted
Stopping because there are too many error
[root at gargi brenda]#
