[wellylug] IU server & cohosting

The older poweredge 350 1U Dells were utter crap, finicky about RAM, 
finicky BIOS, annoying front cover, poor front panel controls, obsolete 
the day they left the factory.

I imagine they have improved a lot, but I switched to IBM x305/x306s 
and never looked back.

2nd hand is a good way to go e.g. trademe, but i wouldn't put any stock 
in the SGI brand for x86 servers - none of the parts will be cheaply 
replaceable, and they are just bog-standard x86 machines in terms of 
architecture and performance.
