I've noticed this more recently, and can people please NOT DO IT!
Just for people who don't understand the problem, I'll explain it (or
copy/paste it ;P)
Some of us use mail clients that display messages in threads, for easy
reading
Mail clients track replies and threads through hidden message headers
Changing the subject on a reply DOES NOT CREATE A NEW MESSAGE
Thus these replies with new subjects get folded in to old threads we
may be reading, confusing the layout.
The moral of the story: ALWAYS create a NEW MESSAGE and type/copy the
email address. NEVER reply to a message and change the subject to
create a new thread.
And yes, I am aware that I've just done exactly what I've been telling
people not to do. To prove a point
