If you must use "sendmail" there's a parameter in, from memory,
sendmail.mc where you insert your domain name. Then you run it through
m3 to generate your new sendmail.cw file. If you want to edit the
Domain Name directly - NOT recommended - there's a parameter ("D" from
memory, where you can change the Domain Name.) 

But have you checked your /etc/resolv.conf? That may be where you are
getting the invalid Domain Name from.

One question, are you running *two* sendmails? That's really not
necessary.
