I'm still with nvidia, and have two screens and 3D at the same time. I didn't 
say Xinerama since it's not technically. The nvidia drivers will run a second 
screen through one Device section and provide Xinerama information. IMHO, the 
best of both worlds.

I did find this frustrating until I automated it. Other Gentoo users might 
find this handy.
