The best way to get software for Mandrake is to use the urpmi command,
or the graphical rpmdrake tool. However, you need to set up download
sources. The best place for finding these is:

http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

http://www.thebrix.org.uk/

On the first site, you'll find a web application, which generates the
commands you need to set up the repositories on your system. You'll
need to run them as root in a console.

The second just has the commands you need, but make sure you get the
right repositories for your mandrake version.

I would recommend setting up:

contrib
update
thacs
norlug
plf
eslrahc

Once you have these installed, you can use rpmdrake (it's in the menu
under system->configuration->packaging->install software) to search,
install a multitude of packages, and it'll resolve all dependencies for
you automatically. It's definitely worth the effort of setting it up.
