[wellylug] Video Capture device

I have a Video Capture device, bttv , anyway, this is a module in the
kernel and works well..

I have 4 input devices with the card, and XawTV sees them as 

1, Television
2, Composite 1
3, S-Video
4, Composite 3

Each of these selections displays within XawTV the device that is
attached to that plug.

Anyway, what I want to know is, with these 4 capture devices, work wants
to use them for Video Surveillance,  

Originally it was on a windows box, but the software was crap to say the
least (Not Window, well Yes windows, but the application they used to
capture the images)

Anyway, I want to be able to stream them if I can, but also record any
changes in motion so, stream 24/7 and record to a avi or something when
motion is detected and e-mail an alert..  and rotate the logs after x
ammount of days, but this needs to happen per channel input..

they dont ask for much ay ;0

Anyway, any thoughts and ideas would be helpful! :)
