Teehee, the step by step guide is just what I need!  I 
will give it a go and let you know the verdict. 
 
The email is sort of working, by that I mean that we can 
receive through Kontact but not send (have to do that 
direct from the website).  I have many times checked the 
settings and I'm sure they're right but i just can't get 
it to send.  I called the isp (Xtra) and was more or less 
given the cold shoulder as they don't have screen shots at 
their end to guide me through.  The settings entries were 
correct though, I was told... my brother said that there 
should be an entry somewhere where you put in something 
like mail@<servername>.com/net/co.nz...? I can't find 
anywhere to put that in - any thoughts? 
 
Will try Kmail when we get hold of suse 9.1 - hopefully 
get that tomorrow...
