Hi Alex,

I certainly don't consider myself a purist, but as a bare minimum you
should at least respect the wishes of our mail list hosting provider,
and the guidelines of the wellylug here:

Given your complete disrespect for this, don't bother asking me next
time if you can do a quick plug for your business at a meeting.

If you wish for a mailing list that has a more liberal policy regarding
unsolicited commercial email, then perhaps you should consider:

minimalist at list.afraid.org

Our hosting provider gives us a web presence and a mailing list, and
expert technical help. The least we can do is respect his single
request.

It's got nothing in this case to do with validity or relevance. It's got
everything to do with respect.
