I agree. I also believe it is arrogant and irrelevent, demonstrating as it
does, a complete lack of respect for the list owner & other members of the
list.

This is NOT Alex's "do as I like coz I don't care what anyone says!" list.

The no advertising rule is NOT an irrelevant Wellylug rule, to be freely
ignored if you happen to want to advertise. It is imposed by the person
providing the listserver, for the use of Wellylug members. The reasons have
been explained, the organisers of the lug have endorsed the rule, and asked
members to respect it. This has been discussed extensively on the org list & at
meetings, and as far as I'm aware, it is the ONLY rule the membership has voted
agreement to. (the others are merely recommendations & guidelines)

This service is appreciated by me, & probably most of the membership. I do not,
however, appreciate the service being put at risk by one or two people who
continue to abuse it and ignore the list owner's conditions of use.

I, for one, have funding from work to undertake both Perl & php training this
year. Where I go is my call, but I will NOT be supporting anyone who abuses
this list by buying their goods or services.

As Alex so sincerely claims to welcome messages such as this, I suggest
luggites send them to training at viceconsulting.co.nz to ensure they are
received.
