Step back a bit. SMTP is designed for situation where the
server may be unable to complete the acceptance of a
message. If an SMTP server cannot complete the delivery of
mail, it will wait and try again. Unless the server is busy
*all* the time, you should not lose mail.
That doesn't mean that you shouldn't monitor of course.
