[wellylug] Help with X

I have recently convinced my son to ditch W98 and go with Debian, however we seemed to have booboo-ed in the install as his mouse is playing up and we aren't sure that we have X correctly configured for his video card.

I'll be bringing the lad and his computer to the LUG tonight, so can someone kindly give us a hand to sort it out? (I'm still too much of a newbie to be a lot of help to him on the innards of X...)
