hi all,

I downloaded a copy of whitebox linux, 3.0-respin2 for x86_64. (If you
don't know what it is, it's a copy of redhat enterprise, which has been
stripped of properitery redhat logos & programs to provide a free
version of redhat enterprise - www.whiteboxlinux.org)

for some reason, during installation, when it tries to load the sata_via
driver, the installer just sits there for ever, doing nothing, saying
"Loading sata_via...".

The system can still respond, and I can view other terminals which have
logs. However, the installation has locked up.

The logs show no errors in loading the module.

does anyone have any ideas why this might be occuring, and how I could
fix it, or know anywhere I might find something? Google hasn't turned
anything up for me on this.

thanks,
