hi all,

I've just had my second blown up powersupply, since november in my
desktop. The power supply is a "Thermaltake W0035RAD, Silent Purepower
410W ATX PSU".

When I plug in the power supply, it has a really high pitch whine, and
emitts a weird smell. The computer (not surprisingly) refuses to start.

Both times, the problem occured after I unplugged the computer for a
bit. The first time was when I unplugged it to move it, and plugged it
back in again. The 2nd time, was due to the power cut this morning.

All my computer systems are well protected with surge protectors, so
it's not a surge or anything.

I belive that it might be a design fault or a bad batch that got
imported into nz. I've emailed thermaltake, but I thought to email here
as someone else might have had this problem, or know something about it.

<rant>
The most annoying part is that I have to return it via ascent - if you
want useless support which takes ages, and people who don't like
customers, see those guys. I'm never going to shop THERE again!
</rant>
