C:/DOS/RUN – remembering the 80’s computer presents artifacts from the
dawn of home computing, and a collection of works by local artists still
using them for creative purposes.
Displays include the world’s first virtual reality device released on
the consumer market, the Ninetendo Powerglove; space age showreels for
early computers, video games available free to play, forgotten hardware
and software, plus /Lenny Minute/, the New Zealand film that was created
on an Amiga 500 and nominated for the 1993 Cannes Short Film Festival.
As part of C:/DOS/RUN The Film Archive will also present a live
performance by local electronic musicians Disasteradio and Emu on
Thursday September 22nd at 7pm.
