http://winehq.org/ will tell you everything you need to know about
Wine. :o)
But basically, you're wanting to run an application of M$ Windows
without using or having M$ Windows. Wine is basically an API converter
designed to translate Win32 APIs into *nix APIs. So, No Windows
required. Wine does not require *any* Micro$oft software in order to
execute applications designed for Microsoft Windows.
*nix boxen generally use better file systems than the FAT file system.
Wine is a *nix programme. You won't need to have any DOS/FAT partitions.
