[wellylug] Server location after depeering?

Hi

I have a server sitting on a citylink connection. This has traditionally 
had excellent latency - which is critical for one of  the services I 
provide.

I presume latency and 'number of hops' are directly proportional?

My customers are small businesses who typically have some form of adsl 
connection.

What process do you go through to choose a colocation site that will 
have optimum connectivity with adsl users?

I also have dreams of  promoting the service in Australia ( I already 
have Aussie customer number one :) so I would need to factor "across the 
ditch" latency into the equation as well.
