Why? The aim of a business is to satisfy the shareholders. It doesn't
matter if the shareholders want profit (as usual), World Peace,
laptops in every school, peering, or whatever, the directors have to
listen to the shareholders. If the shareholders all want the same
thing, it's easy, but if even a small percentage of shareholders
complain it will be taken on board.

Remember, if directors don't listen to the shareholders, and enough
shareholders (or a big enough shareholder) kicks up a fuss then the
director could lose their job, and also their career.
