[wellylug] Problem powering off an ATX system

Further...

Today I put in Xandros Open Circulation. No change.

Then I loaded the kernel sources and followed some instructions I found
on the web to rebuild a Xandros kernel. I set APM to turn off using
real mode calls (most of the other APM settings were set, and ACPI was
all modules.

No change. The system will not power off.

If I disable Power Management in the BIOS, I get a polite screen
informing me that it's ok to turn the power off.

Any thoughts? Is this certain to be a motherboard vintage bug? As in,
replace the mother board?

If so, any thoughts about where to get a PIII motherboard that doesn't
have this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Bret
