I understand your desparation and don't begrudge you the quick answers
you got. You went out of your way to be polite about it too. The odd
off-topic post is only to be expected, and sometimes they are fun or
useful.

However, we've had a few of these, so does anyone know if there is a
Windows Users list, preferably local, where these sorts of questions
can be asked? If there is, then perhaps we can then include a
reference to it on the Wellylug site (in the mailing list info) and
put it in the monthly FAQ-type-document that goes to all list members.

This would allow us to (a) provide a public service, appearing
thoroughly nice guys, but (b) not actually have to see Windows
questions on the list. :-)

Alternatively, a wlug_msquestions list could be set up, in the same
way we have a wlug_trade list. But that really would be unusual.
Probably would make the front page of Slashdot!

P.S. Since we are already thoroughly off-topic, good shake that last
one huh? Wouldn't it be nice if our scientists could tell us they
were precursors of something larger, or not? Google the 'haicheng
earthquake'. (I'm not asking for info, please don't refer me to an
earthquake list :-)

Cheers
Tony
