I completely agree, an uninformed decision is not really a decision -
that's why we have legal minimum ages for certain actions. I choose
what I like the most, Gentoo Linux for my servers and MacOS X for GUI.

Having Microsoft acknowledge Linux as a serious force was a major
boon for Linux, it did prove that Linux could be competitive. This
petty squabble would have damaged the reputation of Linux and its
uses for anyone who read it. At least be nice to the competition,
ever noticed that the most vocal sections of society are those who
get the majority against them?
