Hi

Another live distro you might like to try , if you haven't already, is 
knoppix.  Actually two - mepis is another.  Both have live CDs and both 
can be installed to hardrive if wished.  I can copy mine for you if 
you're interested.  Knoppix has excellent hardware detection, and can be 
used for troubleshooting (not for me I'm a newbie :-)).

I have knoppix 3.7, 3.8 is the later version, but I was told it has bugs 
- don't know if that's correct.  Mail me with your address off list if 
you'd like copies.
