[wellylug] Dual monitor configs in xorg

Just wondering what's the safest way of switching between two monitor
configurations in xorg.
1) Laptop panel 1024x768 at 60Hz 16 bit

2) Philips 107S 1024x768 at 85Hz 24 bit

It's for when I put my laptop into it's docking station and do a Fn +
F5 to switch to the external crt monitor. The laptop's panel settings
do work on the crt but dim and flickering and if I change to 85Hz I
might fry the LCD panel.
