Hi,
Would you please not send HTML to mailing lists?
Mailing lists are archived, and are a major source of solutions people turn
to. HTML is more difficult to search & index - some of the characters are
expanded in non-intuitive ways. Also, HTML takes up more space, and I would
argue uselessly - the information is in the text you write.
As well, HTML is a security risk. Many mail programs don't display it, and
many people set their mail programs not to display it. I'm generally
comfortable with anyone subscribed to this list, but that doesn't guarantee
that a Trojan won't make it's way in. I always have to stop and inspect the
source before displaying HTML.
So it's not a huge deal, but it is a real inconvenience, and somewhat
inappropriate given the intent of mailing lists. Of course you may do as you
wish, but please consider this.
Regards,
Bret
