Flatmate had that too..

It adjusted when she made a phone call

I guess the phone noticed that the time was different on the CDMA
network and adjusted..  (from my understanding, it adjusts each time
network access is made from the phone to ensure it's accurate)

I called Vodafone, as the GSM network should support such a feature as
well, and was told by them that they had more important things to work
on, like 3G and crap..
