Rob Stockley sent me some info on those:

# I've had plenty of success with the Linksys WRT54G. I've got two of them
running
# custom firmware from Sveasoft. The boxes themselves are about the size of
a lunchbox.
# They have an ethernet connector for the Internet, a four port switch and
an 802.11b/g interface.

# The WRTs are more or less a complete computer running Linux from flash
memory.
# Smoothwall and iptables are included in the firmware although I've never
used the firewall
# feature choosing instead to run a dedicated firewall machine. The
Sveasoft firmware allows
# you to adjust the power output from 0-250mW. I expect that higher
settings might require
# additional cooling if the box is in a warm place. The one in my basement
is set to 55mW
# and reaches all the corners of my house.

So that's two votes for WRT54G/ WRT54GS.
