I'm not trying to take business away from DSE, but why bother, if you've got machines running X?

The whole point of X is to provide a network interface (via xdm/kdm/gdm and ssh).  With one keyboard/screen I look after half a dozen Linux/xBSD boxen and my wife's iBook (via ssh).  If need be, I even poke her antique WinME box with VNC, but that's a performance hit (given that all but two are 500MHz and under).

No doubt others on this list have other ways to avoid extra hardware clutter.
