There's nothing obviously wrong there (and the last command I gave you
to type was a waste of time -- I shouldn't post late at night).

If other USB devices are working on that machine, it's _probably not_
an issue of having the right USB driver loaded.

But it could still be a driver bug within the right driver, which was
my past experience with a non-working USB device.  I`'m afraid that I
never found a fix.
