[wellylug] Jabber on Debian

My Jabber client doesn't seem to connect to the server, so I think that
the server itself may not be configured correctly.
I have looked for the c2s.xml and sm.xml files as mentioned in
http://jabberd.jabberstudio.org/2/docs/section04.html#4_1 but a find of
the system doesn't find them.
The install is a standard non-changed jabber install from a Debian
package.

Not sure about the default state of your jabber server, but it's
probably good :-)
In an "open" setup, the client program sends a registration request to
the server ... and they will be automatically created.
So look in the client first :-)
Of course, being Jabber, all the client really does it send XML data to
the server, so you can happily do all this over a telnet session, if you
don't make many typing mistakes ...
