Thanks for the welcome David :)
I just installed SuSE 10 yesterday and it's _heaps_ better than 9.2. For
those who haven't tried it yet it seems to be faster, looks better, was
even easier to install, and has better security. The only thing I can
think of they could do better would be to allow the creation of reiser 4
partitions while installing, especially since support exists in the
kernel by default anyway. I had to install on reiserfs 3 then migrate
across to get most of my partitions on it. This install took place on a
laptop and now seems to run flawlessly. I haven't tried to get the
wireless card working yet but wpa_supplicant is installed by default on
laptops.
I had a few networking hiccups but they seem to be OK now. For some
reason the default route wasn't being set and the nameservers weren't
being set by DHCP. I hit the "delete" button for both network cards in
YaST then reconfigured them and it seems to be fine.
This sounds like some sort of advertising plug but I'm just thrilled :).
I also have a fond spot for chameleons (and lizards in general) so the
initial desktop will be fine for a while.
Cheers,
Timothy
P.S. Searchable menus! What will they think of next?
