But aren't these just front-ends to programs like cdrecord and growisofs?

I just went back through my email archives to find a conversation I had 
about this a while back - it was with Denis Leroy who wrote cdrdao and I 
was asking about Mode2 recording. He told me it wouldn't work and that's 
when I went to SomeOtherOS for DVD burning and never bothered to go back 
and see if Linux 'just works' yet for general stuff.

So can growisofs burn DVDs in mode2 yet? As for burning DVD isos, I'll 
have to check a recent version of it out. Thanks.
