[wellylug] KDE sound problem

Suse 9.3 KDE.  On board sound: via 8237.  I can listen to online radio but not 
cd's.  The default player is KsCD, mixer is kmix.  KsCD shows that the cd is 
playing.  I've googled the issue without any obvious answers.  

We have another box using Suse 9.2 using an on board Intel 82801BA, KsCD and 
kmix.  The only difference is that the cd unit is connected to the 
motherboard by an extra 4 wire [analog?] line.  Disconnecting that line 
breaks the sound.  On the Suse 9.3 machine, there is no obvious connection 
for a similar 4 wire line.

Any suggestions?
